Rumor is operated by Attention Analytics LLC. This policy describes what we collect about you, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what we need to run a subscription service, we don’t sell personal data, and we don’t run third-party advertising.
What We Collect
- Account information — your email address, name if you provide one, and your plan.
- Billing information — payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and billing history; your full card number never touches our servers.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, API requests, and standard server logs (IP address, browser type), used to operate the service, enforce rate limits, and improve the product.
- Your content — portfolios, saved settings, and preferences you create in the app.
The market and social data we display is about public companies and public posts, not about you.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used; in regions that require it, it only runs if you accept the analytics banner, and you can at any time. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How We Use It
To provide and secure the service, process payments, send transactional email (receipts, account notices, password resets), respond to support requests, and understand how the product is used so we can improve it. If we send marketing email, you can unsubscribe with one click.
Who We Share It With
Service providers who process data on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Google Firebase and Google Cloud (authentication, database, and hosting), Google Analytics (usage analytics), and our email provider (transactional and, with your consent, marketing email). We share personal data with no one else, except as required by law. We do not sell personal data.
Retention and Deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. If you close your account — or email support@rumor.io from your account address — we delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we must retain for tax, accounting, or fraud prevention. You can also request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, authentication is handled by Firebase Auth, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you.
Children
The service is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. For material changes we will give notice by email or on the site before they take effect.
