KKR Income Opportunities Fund is a diversified, closed-end management investment company focused on delivering a high level of current income, with capital appreciation as a secondary objective. Managed by KKR Credit Advisors, the fund employs a dynamic, opportunistic credit strategy that allocates across leveraged loans, high yield bonds, and structured credit, with flexibility to capitalize on market dislocations and relative value shifts. Under normal market conditions, it targets a portfolio primarily of first- and second-lien secured loans, unsecured loans, and high-yield corporate debt from U.S. and non-U.S. issuers, and may use derivatives and hedging to manage risk and enhance risk-adjusted returns. The fund utilizes leverage through a financing facility and has outstanding mandatory redeemable preferred shares, integrating asset coverage considerations into its capital structure. Its sector exposure frequently spans areas such as hotels and leisure, financial services, and software, reflecting a broad footprint across cyclical and defensive industries. Since inception in 2013, the vehicle has operated as a registered investment company under the Investment Company Act of 1940, with an emphasis on rigorous underwriting and active credit selection.
