1. Agreement
Rumor (“the Service”) is operated by Attention Analytics LLC (“Attention Analytics,” “we,” “us”). By accessing the Service — the website, the API, or any content we publish — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Rumor is a research platform that measures investor attention and sentiment. We collect public social-media conversation about stocks, funds, and cryptocurrencies, and turn it into metrics, charts, screeners, summaries, and an API — alongside market data such as prices and financials.
3. Not Investment Advice
Nothing on the Service is investment advice, and we are not an investment adviser, broker, or dealer. We publish measurements of public conversation and document how they are computed. We do not recommend buying, selling, or holding any security or asset, and we make no claim that attention or sentiment predicts prices. Any decision you make based on the Service is yours alone, and investing involves risk, including the loss of principal.
4. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account, keep your credentials confidential, and be at least 18 years old. An account is for one person; do not share logins or API keys. You are responsible for activity under your account.
5. Plans, Billing, and Renewal
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through our payment processor, Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Current prices and plan features are listed on the pricing page. If we change a price, we will notify you in advance and the change takes effect at your next renewal.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Details, including our refund windows, are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is part of these terms.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content from the Service outside the documented API;
- circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or feature gating, or share API keys between people or organizations;
- resell, redistribute, or republish our data, in raw or substantially reproduced form, except as a plan’s license expressly allows;
- use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others, or interfere with the Service’s operation.
8. Data License by Plan
Free and Individual plans license the Service’s data and exports for your personal use, including your own research and trading. They do not permit use inside a business or in anything you sell or distribute.
The Professional plan additionally grants a commercial-use, non-distribution license: you may use our data and API inside your organization — in internal research, models, agents, and applications, including products whose outputs are derived from our data. You may not redistribute, resell, or expose our data itself (raw or substantially reproduced) to third parties; a product that passes our numbers through to your customers requires a separate agreement — contact us.
9. Third-Party Market Data
Prices, financial statements, and related market data are supplied by third-party providers under license. This data may be delayed or contain errors, is provided for informational purposes only, and may not be redistributed.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service — including our metrics, models, software, design, and the Rumor name and marks — belongs to Attention Analytics LLC or its licensors. These terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service under your plan; they transfer no ownership.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Social data is a noisy signal and our classifiers are imperfect; we document known limitations in the FAQ rather than pretend they don’t exist.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Attention Analytics LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or trading losses, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms; where practical we will warn you first. Sections 3 and 9 through 12 survive termination.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we will give notice — by email or on the Service — before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Attention Analytics LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
